This is the view from my room. There is a garden which belongs to the complex where I live, and next to that is a daycare... I usually wake up to the sound of kids screaming, laughing, and carrying on playing soccer or basketball ont he blacktop.

This is the view from the kitchen table, where you can see the cranes and such building the 5-star hotel. In the middle of the structure there will be a conference center of sorts (I have a better picture that I took on the way back from campus... I'll try to upload it later.) Since Oviedo is the capital of this region, which is Asturias, a lot of official business takes place here and they are building this hotel to house ministros, government officials, ambassadors from other countries, and whoever else has lots of money and power.

Oh SNAP! You were NOT kidding when you said they were building a big hotel next to your house. That thing is HUGE!!! It does look really nice though. Maybe that's where I'll stay when I come visit during Spring break :)
Glad your classes are getting worked out. Trust me, as you said earlier, I can promise you that you are WAAAAAY more worried about your class schedule than anyone else is there. It will be cool when you get it all settled though; then you can get into a routine and really start your "Spanish" life. how fun!!
Oh, and good call about meeting that guy at the cafe. Don't know about Spain, but being the "host" to the international students is a coveted position, even though it is voluntary. Guys and girls love this gig because, as you can imagine, they get "First dibs" on the hot foreign students and get to meet them when they are at their most vulnerable, trusting, and in need of a "friend". ha! Pretty good strategy, I must say. he he. I hope Jay isn't reading this. :)
That last comment was from me, meredith. Forgot to mention that!
Mere, I think we all pretty much knew it was you! Who else has a spring break, some of us corporate types have to work for a living.... :) Just kidding!! Ahhhh the days of spring break!!! Really great call scrub, I can't wait to hear whether this one is helpful or not. It is FREEZING here today, I was thinking which one is worse cold cold cold or the hot humid weather you were talking about, Petee, Elephant and I decided you have it worse....Hang in there hopefully it will get colder. Although in Sweden when it is 40 degrees they call that "warm" so sometimes things really do get lost in translation!!!
