Hooray! Somebody will take me!

Well so much for the excitement of reserving a hostel and that $0.13 I spent on the phonecall through Skype... I have a family in Spain now! I got an email and house address this morning (which means they probably have internet access!) If anyone is interested in knowing where I will be staying, here is the address:

.....edited out .....

Charo (the coordinator) said that they have had several study abroad students before and they they always seemed to work out great. Pedro is the father's name, but I don't know the mother right now... they have two adult daughters that live there with them (ages 30 and 40) and a cat. I looked up the address on Google, and it appears to be less than a mile away from campus!

I am going to email the Familia Fernández in just a few minutes to see if maybe they could either meet me at the airport or at the bus station from the airport and at least introduce myself since I will be living with them for the next few months. Charo told me that they do speak English, but I am going to try to avoid that as much as possible.

Wish me luck!

You are so funny! Somebody will tame me! They don't know how lucky they are to have you as their guest. I know you will form a great friendship with them Sandy.

Hi Sandy...I hope I am welcome to join your cheering squad. The pictures of your new "family" are VERY INTERESTING and subject to much interpretation (which I will avoid at this time). I am anxious to hear about what they are really like. Please know that I had hoped to see you off at Roanoke this Sunday. Unfortunately, that won't work out for me. I wish I could be there to see you off into the wild blue. Just be assurred that you will be in my daily thoughts and that I will be sending you "love vibes" frequently. And, by the way, all those bulbs which were planted with tender loving care are just itching to poke their up their little heads. It's a little soon. We need to keep them nice and warm for now. We will keep you advised of their progress. Bob Syl
