Here is the back side of the Palacio de Congresos/5 star hotel/underground mall that they are building next door... you can see the progress of construction pretty well from here. I found out today that those huge white beams on the Palacio de Congresos will actually be able to move up and down like a peacock's feathers in order to let in natural light as they intend to use mostly sunlight to light the place during the day.
Here is the entrance to the shopping mall underneath the Palacio de Congresos... apparently this shade of white is actually patented, believe it of not.

This is the acutal Formula One racer that Fernando Alonso, past champion and native to Oviedo, will be driving this sunday in the race. I have a nice picture of Pablo and I posing in front of it too if anybody would like to see it, just let me know. We had no idea it was going to be there when we arrived, and lucky us.. it is going off display tomorrow of course so it can be prepped for the big race.
Well, this afternoon we are going to MediaMarkt to look at some webcams and then later on Merche and I are going to go deal-shopping to try to find a nice trip to Granada or Sevilla. Tomorrow we are all going to Covadonga to tour around a bit which should be fun.
I figured out that I can use Picasa to make blog posts and upload images A LOT more easily than before, so I will definitely be sharing more photos.
Next edition: Some food for thought for Meredith, excuse me, Ms. Hobson's Spanish class, and for whoever else it may interest.
