Classes draw to a close

Well, today was my last day of law classes. I still have one more class on Thursday in Milan (translation) but it is always a lot of fun once I get motivated enough to get across town, haha.

Tomorrow will be a day of studying because I have Utilities Law on Thursday which I already wrote a paper for (final grade is 50% paper, 50% exam), Film and Law exam on Friday, and International Public Law exam on Monday. For Civil Law the professor asked me to write a paper instead of doing the exam about nationality law in the U.S and the differences between states and such. He is a bit of an America-fanatic, so I think it was really more for his own interest than mine to be honest! In any case I am relieved, because honestly, studying Spanish civil code for exam purposes was not something I was looking forward to because, well, it is entirely different from U.S law with a whole different logic behind it... and really, who enjoys reading legal jargon for hours on end anyway? Okay nerd, don't speak up.

Today marks 2 weeks until I'll be back on U.S soil. It seems like the second half of my stay has gone by a lot quicker than the first half, but I suppose that is to be expected. Assuming I pass at least a couple of classes here (I expect to pass them all, but I'm just saying...) I will graduate Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Tech whenever the Spanish wake up from their siesta and send my grades over for transfer. Paloma, the International Student Correspondent for my campus, tells me this usually happens around mid July.

I am excited about coming back, but things have already changed so much. Jay is busily getting the new apartment put together in Salem while settling into his new job which seems a bit strange since I'm not around for such a major transition. I'm excited to see the new place though, it sounds really nice.

I suppose it will be a bit anti-climatic for me when I come back without a graduation ceremony and all, and it seems strange not to worry about what classes to register for next. A few days ago I noticed that my backpack is about to give out, and I thought to myself "Aw man I'll have to buy another backpack soon.." and then I remembered... oh wait... I won't be carting books around campus anymore.

I still have a few places I want to visit around town before I leave, but I think I'll have time. This weekend me and the Spanish Fam are going to Toledo and Aranjuez... should be interesting. I sure am glad Pedro loves to drive so much or else I probably never would have seen so many things honestly.

Well that's about all for now I suppose, just a little ranting and a small update as to what I'm up to :-)
